MIR Finish Quantum

There is another mail in rebate for Finish. The form is in the Smart Source that came in the paper this weekend. If you don't get that you can go to their Facebook page and print the form. Buy 20 count Finish Quantum between Sept 22 and Oct 12(dates are a bit different for the Facebook MIR) and get up to $8.49 back. There are several $2 off coupons out there, and if you could use this on a 20X the points day at Shoppers or 10% off day, you could stand to make money from this MIR! I did this one this year and the turn around was really quite fast. I mailed it April 16th and got the cheque May8th. (I write on my calendar the day I pop it in the mail and the day I get it back. I also photocopy my receipt and MIR form for my records.) I was happily surprised to receive $10.12 as they pay you the tax and postage as well! Have you tried MIRs yet?

Finish Mail In Rebate

Remember the Finish Mail In Rebate? Did you do it? I blogged about it here. It was available on purchases of the 20 ct Finish Quantum made by May 4th. Anyways, people often as me if MIRs are a good idea. Do they really come? Well, I have been doing them for awhile now and I can tell you so far I have always received all of my rebates, and I have done tons!
The best way to get the most out of them is to:
1. Combine them with coupons, this one had a $2 off coupon
2.Combine them with Shoppers 20X the points if you can. This meant that instead of having to spend $50, I spent $40 at a 20X the points event.
3. Combine them with 10% off days at Safeway
The best way to track your MIRs:
1.  Mark it on the calendar when you send it in.
2.Always photocopy or scan your original form and receipt.
I sent this one in on April 16th. The form said receive up to $8.49. My cheque is for $10.12!!!! I am still waiting for several Physician's Formula Rebates, but they say you'll wait 10 weeks and it usually takes that long.
What do you think? Ready to try some MIRs? Smart Canucks has a great link page here . Want to see some of the mail in rebates I have done? Go here .

Airmiles Coupons in the Mail Today Equals Cheap TP!!!

Did you get your Airmiles coupons today? Here's what they look like.

Here's the Safeway flyer, which starts April 20th. Combine the 50% off coupon with the Purex $5 toilet paper and you have a screaming deal on tp!!! There are 12 rolls of 270 sheets, so 3240 sheets. At 50% off it's $2.50/package. That makes it .0007716/roll!!!! Best price ever! Of course you can only get one package, but at least some of your tp is cheap!!!

My flyers always look like a math lesson by the time I am done with them!

There are also a few coupons for Purex out there. The 50% off coupon doesn't say anything about not using coupons so I will try and use one.(They are both from Websaver)

This is a super fun MIR. You need to buy 5 Dare products(one MUST be Bretons). Then send in the rebate form(in stores),your original receipt with the items circled and the UPC codes written on the back and they will send you a $15 gift card! This is available at Safeway, Save On, IGA,Metro, Coop Atlantic,Coleman's. (The rebate form says London Drugs, but when I called Dare they said that London Drugs wouldn't be participating). You don't NEED to spend $15...only buy 5 Dare products. I combined this with 10% off day and I bought 4 of the Real Fruit Gummies and one Breton's. My grand total was $11.19 so I will make $3.81(less a stamp). If you have any coupons for Dare products you could do even better!

Lakeview Market has Ragu for $1.28 and Grape Tomatoes 2/$3. Remember Walmart will match these prices.

I think I am going to wait and see if Superstore does the one where you get the $20 worth of PC gift cards.  Supposedly MIR forms will be in stores by Jan 12,2012.
Another idea might be to wait and do this on a 20X the points day as it will be almost half of your $50 purchase!

10% off Tuesday and Combining Deals

As you probably already know, Tuesday is 10% off day at Safeway. I don't often participate in 10% off day as I find it quite difficult to find $35 worth of stuff that is at a good price! Well, this week I am going to do some combining of deals to get to $35. I will use these coupons. If you got the Kraft Sample box you will have also received the top 3 pictured here. I am guessing that each product will run me about $3-$4 each. That's $9-$12. The Tampax will probably be $3-$4 each. The oasis juices are $1 each when on sale, but at Safeway they can be close to $2 each! So, I am close to $20 dollars here. I need to buy tp and the Purex is 24 for $4.99 plus 30 airmiles for buying 2. Right there I am pretty close to $30! I will get a few limes 2/$1, maybe some Imperial Margarine if it is a good deal(it says BOGO on the front of the flyer) What I noticed the last time I did the 10% off day was that they added all the REGULAR prices of the items I was buying and gave 10% off of that! Bonus! So a $35 shop actually saved me $6 plus the coupons I used!

These are some mail in rebates that are available right now.  The ones on the left are good for Air Wick Scented Products.  One is worth up to $13.99 which covers the cost of the item, it's taxes and postage. The other is worth $11.99. You can print off your own form here The one for Finish is from the Smartsource insert that was in your newspaper.
Now,with these mail in rebates you need to send in your receipt. So, usually I do each one separately. In order to combine deals you could buy the $13.99 one next Saturday if you are going to do the 20X the points day at Shoppers. I used these mail in rebates many times with many different products to bring down my total at Shoppers 20X the points days.(There were lots out there last year!)
If it's a regular 20X the points you will need to spend $50 to qualify. So, this would bring you down to less than $40, needing to be spent.
You could buy one at Safeway. I might use the Finish one on 10% off day.
There are also the 10-15%off coupons when you spend $25-$100 at Extra Foods. They have the following:
Pineapples $1.97
Yams .46/lb
Cabbage is .38/lb
Broccoli Bunches are .96
No Name Cheese is $7.98 for 800g (limit 4)(I will buy some and grate it and freeze it.)
These are just a few ideas for combining deals and saving money. What do you do to save on groceries??

Do Mail in Rebates Cheques Actually Come?

People have asked me whether or not Mail in Rebates work. Do the cheques actually come? How long does it take? Is it worth it? Well, I have decided to post a few examples. First of all the Accudial one was an email rebate. I blogged about it here. It is now over. They only asked for you to take a picture of your purchase and email it in along with the answers to 3 product oriented questions. They are promoting dosing of medicine by the child's weight, not just age. They reimbursed me $10 for this. The product cost was $5.99 plus tax(.65) or $6.64. I purchased it at Safeway on 10% off day in order to get my total to the minimum $35 required to get 10% off. So, I saved the .60 this way. Total in my pocket? $10-$6.04 =$3.96 plus a full size free product! How long did it take? I bought it Feb 2 and received my cheque Feb 18th! Only 16 days.

This is the Air Wick MIR that I blogged about. I bought it on Dec 11th for $11.49 plus tax $1.38 which is $12.87. I combined this by buying it at Shopper's at a 20X the points which in dollar amount are worth $2.05 or $2.41 depending on whether or not there's a bonus redemption. I received my cheque for $12.87 on Jan 24th. 44 days.

Below is the recent Nutrogena MIR. I blogged it here. They allowed one per person, not household. We bought 2 different kinds on Jan 22. One was $45.99 plus tax $5.52 =$51.50, the cheque for $52.10 came on Feb 28th. A total of 37 days. The other was $59.99 + $7.20 =$67.18 The cheque for $67.78 came the same day as the other one. We combined these with a 20X the points day at Shopper's so again the points are worth a total of $18.96 - $22.31 again depending on when I use them.( I wait until the maximum redemption possible which is a bonus redemption of 95000 points for $200. )I have used this twice, once at Christmas and once in Feburary.

You can keep track of all the most recent MIRs at the Smart Canuck's website, here.
Ready to try MIRs for yourself? Right now there are a few out there! I blogged about the Febreze one at the bottom of this post. The Physician's Formula one is here.

Free Makeup

Would you like to try some make up, for free? Physician's Formula has 6 mail in rebates right now, 2 of them are for a full price rebate! The fine print is:

1. Make sure the makeup has this full price rebate sticker as you will need to mail it in.

2.Purchases must be made by Nov 30, 2011 and post marked no later than Dec 15, 2011

3. Each item requires a seperate receipt, this is very important.(I spoke with someone at Physician's Formula)

4. You must mail in your original receipt.
5. You must print off and mail in the rebate forms here
6. Take note of the mailing information being different for each offer(PF-10, PF -13), this leads me to believe you must mail in each one seperately.
7. I spoke with someone at Physician's Formula and they said you can use all 6 offers, just seperate receipts.
This makeup is in the $15-$20 range per item. Those of you who enjoy getting 20X the points at Shoppers could combine one of these purchases with a 20X the points day, like today! The minimum you have to spend today is $50, so the mascara, which is $17.99, is a good start!

Neutrogena and Accudial Free plus SDM points!

There are 2 offers out there that if combined this weekend at Shoppers could make you money!
First of all Accudial has an offer for you to try one of their products free. Actually, they say they will send you $10 and that the product should cost $6.99. So, you actually make $3.

Secondly, there is an offer from Neutrogena Clinical night anti aging system mail in rebate.
Spend up to $70 and mail in your original receipt, UPC and a rebate form(I found one in this week's Rexall flyer, some say they are next to the Neutrogena products in Superstore)and they will send you the price of your purchase and taxes and postage!
The fine print: Valid between Jan 21 and Feb 4. This is when you must purchase it
One rebate per person
Must be postmarked by Feb 11,2011
Can not be combined with any other offer or coupons.
Canada only.
Available while quantities last(this makes me a little leery?anyone ever do one of these MIR before?)

Jan 22-24th if you spend $75 at Shoppers you get 18,500 optimum points, which is equivalent to about $25 worth of free merchandise. So, if you combine these 2 offers (the Neutrogena costs between $50 and $61)and don't end up having to buy anything else, you would get these 2 products free, plus almost $30!
