This Week's Sales and Free Coffee

Free Coffee (taken from Redflags site)

Free Coffee from McDonald’s is Back! March 1-14, Get Free Coffee All Day Long! The very popular free coffee promotion from McDonald's is back -- with a bonus! March 1-14, McDonald's is once again offering free (delicious) coffee, but this time they'll be offering it all day long! Previous promotions have been limited to breakfast hours only. When this promotion ran previously (in April and November), there was a limit of one per customer per visit, and it was not available with an extra value meal or value picks. Although full details have not been released, we would suspect the same restrictions would be in place this time.

Using Up Freezer Food and Modifying Recipes

This week as I menu planned, I was looking through my freezer and found plums! We have a plum tree in our backyard and this year it produced a bountiful harvest. I cut them in half, took out the seed and froze them in Ziploc of 2 cups. So, I was thinking, what could I make with plums that would be good in lunches and our ski hill suppers. I have this recipe for rhubarb bake, which we love, and I thought why not modify it and use plums instead?

So, I did and the result was wonderful!(I doubled the recipe to make this large cake pan full). In the process I learned that if you want to you can melt the margarine and mix it in, it doesn't seem to make any difference. Also, I didn't have any oranges, no problem.
Maybe other fruits could be used also?

This is an extremely easy, very tasty, recipe.

Using What You Have

Aren't they beautiful! These spinner dolphins swam alongside a cruise we went on in Oahu. It is the Hoku Nai'a and was a fantastic dolphin, whale watch cruise that included a delicious lunch and snorkeling!
Coming home I was re inspired to do better with my food budget. One thing that makes me very happy is using up and not wasting, what I have on hand. Looking through my fridge I found antipasto(several jars). Our family's idea of antipasto is eat it during the Christmas season on crackers. After Christmas we don't really eat it. So I thought surely there were some recipes for cooking with antipasto. I found that the brand I had had a website and sure enough lots of great recipes! www.somethingspecialdeli.com Remember the $1.50 off 2 jugs of 4L of milk? Well, I bought both and am right on track for using it up before the expiry date because of recipes like these that need 2 1/2 cups for the antipasto lasagna! Yeah!

Free Food! Free Samples,Free Zipline, Free long distance and channels.

There are a couple of no strings attached meals I stumbled upon on www.redflagdeals.com

Friday, February 5th, Burger King is offering Free Breakfast Sandwiches -- no purchase required! There's a bit of fine print: offer is valid during breakfast hours only and there is a limit of one sandwich per customer. It is not valid on the Enormous Omelette Sandwich. Also, the King says "I'm sorry that the only time I offer to buy breakfast is when it's free" to which we say -- that's okay.

Denny's has dubbed Tuesday February 9 "Super Tuesday" and that means you get a free Grand Slam Breakfast! Between 7AM and 2PM on Tuesday, February 9, you can walk in (and possibly wait a while) and have yourself a Grand Slam Breakfast with no strings attached. That's all there is to it! In Canada, Denny's has restaurants in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. The store locator at Dennys.ca is at your disposal if you need to know where to get a free breakfast.

I am not a Roger's customer, but for those of you who are, here's a nice freebie!
Rogers Celebrates Chinese New Year: Free Channel Previews & Free Long Distance Calling Chinese New Year is almost here (February 14) and to celebrate, Rogers has some nice free offers. Namely, there are free previews of a lot of Chinese channels and free long distance calling on Chinese New Year's Day. According to the mailing we've received, you can find the free previews on the following channels: 577, 804, 805, 806, 807, 808, 809, 810, 813, 814, 817, and 819. Basic cable and a digital box are required to receive digital/HD programming. For Rogers Home Phone customers, you'll be able to call China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia free from February 13th at 8AM to February 14th at 8AM. There's more information to be found at RogersCelebration.com -- just note that the site is in Chinese

I am not a big Splenda fan myself, but for those of you who like it here's a freebie for you!
Free Sample of Splenda No Calorie Sweetener Flavours for Coffee If you're looking for ways to add some extra flavour to your coffee but you aren't looking to add calories, you might be interested in a free sample from Splenda. Right now, if you fill out this form and answer a few survey survey questions, you can get a free sample of Splenda Flavours for Coffee. As is usually the case for these types of offers, you need to supply some basic personal information -- nothing out of the ordinary though. You are instructed to allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. There is a maximum of 1 trial offer per Canadian household.
Ziptrek.com: Free Zip Lining In Downtown Vancouver During The Winter Olympics! February 12-28 What's better than a cheap thrill? A free one, of course! If you're going to be in Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics, you can get a free thrill from zip lining high above the city at Robson Square courtesy of Ziptrek Ecotours. Head down to the Law Courts at Robson Square from February 12-28 (10AM-9PM) for a free ride on Ziptrek's six-story high, 170-metre long zipline over downtown Vancouver. This free event is likely to be very popular, so hopefully you won't get cold feet while you're waiting in line!
