Shopping at Safeway for customer appreciation day was quite productive! As you can see there was lots of clearance! The grand total was $55.98. The breakdown is as follows.

Why did I get $7.61 when I spent only $55.98 total you ask? Well, first of all it's very important to go through self checkout. The computer is set up so you scan all your items and when you are done it asks if you want 10% off or 10 X the air miles. Then it asks for your coupons! Some people have had success doing this with the cashiers at the regular tills, but I never have.
This is actually 2 different bills combined. I did one for just one pack of the Dad's(I need a separate receipt for Checkout 51) and 2 cheeses, (there is a limit of 2 per card). So one bill was $11.98 and I did not get 10% off. My other bill I ended up paying $44 out of pocket after Checkout 51 and MIR.

Superstore had this Maple Leaf bacon on clearance! Plus there were $1 off introductory coupons stuck on them! Plus, I had a $2 off coupon from Maple Leaf!
$5.27-$1.58-$1-$2=.69!!!
The other package was $2.69.

Costco still has the pork on this week! This one was $13.62-$5=$8.62
The Ecos laundry detergent is on for $9.49. My sister in law loves it so I thought we would try it.

Save On has buy 5 Kraft products get $5 off. The coupon is in this week's flyer.The salad dressings are $2.50 and the cream cheese is $3.50 so $14.50-$5=$9.50 for these 5 Kraft Products. The Country Harvest are Checkout 51 offers. They are $2.50 less .75 from Check out 51 making them $1.75 a loaf! I just learned that starting tomorrow Checkout 51 has $1 off Country Harvest 100% loaves, so you could get them for $1.50!

Walmart total spent $8.77.

This flyer doesn't start until Friday but I got it today and had time so I thought I would post some fun deals!
As you can see the turkeys are on again. If you wait until Tues to buy it, you'll get it for .89/lb! But make sure you go early, I have noticed that they don't put out very many, at least at our store. Fresh cranberries and Broccoli are .99/lb(.89/lb)
Avacodoes are .99 each(.89)

Milk for 1L is $2(limit 2) which is the equivalent of 4L $4, which is an unheard of price for milk nowadays, unless you can do the PM at Walmart for the Lakeview milk $1 off coupon.  I get my milk for $3.65.

This is an interesting deal. Combine it with 10% off day and it could make sense! Buy  5  participating Kraft products and get a free 600-700g Cracker Barrel Cheese!

In the flyer it shows some of the prices, so let's say you bought 5 Kraft Salad Dressings. That would cost you $12.50, get it on 10% off day and you spend $11.25. The Cracker Barrel Cheese is in the flyer for $9.99. So, if you were going to buy cheese anyway, you would pay $1.26 for 5 dressings!!!!

Black Diamond Cheese strings are on for $2.99 if you buy 2 or more. Combine it with the $1 off coupons and 10% off and you get it for $1.79.

Buy 3 340-680g Post Cereals and get a free 4L of milk.

Windex is 2/$6, so on 10% day it would be $5.40-$3 or $2.40 for 2, if you have a buy one get one free coupon. Or $3.40 with the $2 off coupon. As a side note SC Johnson is offering a free issue of Canadian Living if you buy 2. The details are here.

Starting Friday  10 packs of stamps are 10% off at Rexall, limit 3.

As you can see there are lots of coupons out there for Advil. Rexall has selected varieties on for $3.99 Friday-Sunday only. With a coupon you'd pay .99.

I don't know why this Safeway picture ended up below all the others. But as you can see celery is .79 a  stalk, or .71 on 10% off day!

This is a fun coupon! It expires Oct 29th(Saturday)so you'll have to hurry. I saw them at Cooper's in Rutland as soon as you walk in the door on a board above where they have the store flyer. They are valid only at Overwaitea, Save On Foods, or Cooper's in Western Canada.

Peanut Butter!!!!

I just had to quickly post this deal on Peanut Butter! At Costco you can get a 2Kg of Kraft Peanut butter, regular or light, for $3.89!!!!!
I have never tracked it this low!!! I am curious if all Costcos across Canada do similar sales, would you help me by emailing me or posting a comment as to whether or not your Costco has peanut butter on sale? Ours in Kelowna, expires in August(the peanut butter that is). What would you do with all that peanut butter you ask??? I will do a post on that shortly. If your family eats peanut butter at all, go buy some!
